Virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, extended reality… In this age, where we are keen on attaching the word “reality” to every new field of experience, we would be better off asking first about our nuisance with reality itself. In this introductory talk about mixed realities, we will try to put this so-called technological leap of this age into a historical perspective and clarify the subtle differences between those experiences to flare up a lively discussion about the present and future of all these reality technologies.
