BORKLUCE MUSTAFA SCULPTURE

This sculpture design contains the interpretation of social and philosophical values owned by a historical figure, who became a symbol of equality, peace and justice of Anatolia in 15th century.

The Design process respects the existing contextual patterns of Karaburun’s rural site therefore the sculpture heads for the unification of people and creates a new social space for all.

The design has a strong connection with the surrounding area and has been properly laid on the ground level. 

Furthermore its dependence on the users demonstrates its avoidance of a hierarchic ideology and evokes existing within a balance.

The sculpture does not dictate the visitors on how to use the space, but gives them the freedom to move or just be both inside and around it. Thus the sculpture will transform each ‘visitor’ into a fragment of a whole.

The floating and reflective surface of the sculpture is held by a steel structure. It projects uniquely abstract and erratic views from the sky for each person and creates a fluid reality.
